Quality Management System

SIPO was awarded the first QMS certificate in 1997. In 2006 the quality system certification was renewed, and from then on QMS has been improved constantly, as evidenced by the acquisition of another certificate in 2009.

Quality management according to ISO standard

SIPO has committed itself to quality from the very outset of its full operation in 1992, confirming this commitment in 1997 by the acquisition of QMS certificate ISO 9002:1994 issued by the German TÜV CERT certification authority. It was the first among Slovenian state bodies to obtain such certificate, and most probably also the first among all IP Offices.

In 2005 it reintensified efforts to increase the quality of its services and received, in 2006, the ISO 9001:2000 certificate issued by the Slovenian Institute for Quality and Metrology (SIQ), which was upgraded, in 2009, to ISO 9001:2008 certificate issued by the same authority. One of the main SIPO’s objectives - to continually improve its processes in order to provide high quality services to customers - has been thus once again successfully fulfilled.

Customer satisfaction

As part of the efforts to constantly improve its operational quality, SIPO regularly (monthly and biannually) and periodically conducts surveys on customer reactions. The analyses of survey questionnaires provide the guideline for implementation of preventive and corrective measures aiming at improvement of SIPO’s overall operation.

Although the Office is bound to act within its legal competence, it endeavours strongly to implement legislative provisions in a most transparent and user-friendly manner, and to simplify, as far as possible, the IPR granting procedures and the acquisition of necessary information. In this way it carries out its mission, which is to provide support to efficient and internationally comparable innovation environment.
