Dr. Jurij Žurej completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Ljubljana Faculty of Law, where he also obtained his Doctoral Degree in Business and Civil Law. He also studied international management and obtained Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the IEDC – Bled School of Management.
He started his professional career as Junior Researcher at the University of Ljubljana Faculty of Law. Between 2002 and 2007, he was Legal Consultant at several public administration bodies and companies (National Review Commission for Public Procurement, Information Commissioner's Office, Mobitel and Unian), and in 2008 he founded the Institute ICDR (International consultancy, development and research).
Dr. Žurej has authored more than hundred expert articles, among others, the Commentary to Access to Public Information Act, and lectured at numerous seminars and trainings.
The Director manages the Office in close cooperation with the Director’s Board that is made up of the Heads of SIPO Departments.
